Shana O’Neal is an Associate Attorney at Slate & Associates. She has been practicing law since 1998 focused on litigation and family law matters, including pre-nuptial counseling and preparation, divorce, child custody, asset division and protection, modification and enforcement of child possession and support orders, grandparent rights, and assorted other legal matters relative to the familial relationship. Shana has a keen ability to guide clients through difficult times with clear and honest communication and respect.

Shana was born and raised in League City, Texas. After graduating from Clear Creek High School, she attended Texas State University and earned a degree in Psychology. She worked for the Gulf Coast Center as a Job Coach for people with mental illness and/or deficiencies for several years before taking the LSAT on a bet. After doing quite well on the test and winning the bet, she applied and enrolled at St. Mary’s University School of Law. After graduating from law school with an infant son, she and her husband returned to League City in 1998. She began her law career at McLeod, Alexander, Powell & Apffel in Galveston and has mostly been in partnership as Collins-O’Neal Law Firm, as well as a solo practitioner as The Law Office of Shana O’Neal.

Ms. O’Neal has practiced primarily family law for the past 16 years. In her free time, Shana enjoys floating a river, vacationing with friends and family, music, playing cards, obsessing about baseball (at all levels, from Little League to the Bigs) and reading/writing comedy. She is the mother of three grown children and two former step-children, all of whom she adores -4 Aggies and a Baby Bobcat.
