Katharine Dodd

Katharine was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Katharine received her undergraduate degree from Pace University in New York, New York and moved back to her hometown, where she graduated from the University of Houston Law Center. During law school, she participated in internships with Disability Rights Texas, the State Bar of Texas and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

While always having an interest and desire to practice law, Katharine decided to pursue another passion of hers first. After passing the bar exam, Katharine worked for Child Protective Services as a Conservatorship Caseworker monitoring the care of children while they were in CPS’s conservatorship. Katharine then transitioned into the role of Regional Attorney where she represented the State of Texas by advocating for the State in county and district courts during various stages of litigation and counseling state employees by interpreting laws, regulations, and policies.

Prior to joining Slate & Associates, Katharine worked as an associate attorney at McDowell Hetherington LLP focusing on life, health and disability insurance matters. When Katharine is not at the office, she enjoys playing board games with friends and traveling to the Texas hill country.
